Real Food CT 2025/26 Annual Fund

Real Food CT is the region’s leading source of fresh, locally grown produce for neighbors in need. Working with over 25 farms and delivering to more than 25 food pantries, we ensure that the healthiest, most nutritious food reaches families facing food insecurity across our communities. In Connecticut, over 1 in 10 residents struggle to access consistent, nutritious food, with even higher rates in urban centers like Bridgeport, Danbury, and Hartford.

This year, we are on track to donate nearly 125,000 pounds of produce—valued at more than $240,000 (using Feeding America’s valuation)—to help fill that gap. Through our surplus and gleaning programs, we rescue crops that would otherwise go to waste, turning them into meals for those who need them most. Our efficient, experienced team stretches every dollar further than traditional hunger relief efforts, making your contribution one of the most impactful ways to fight food insecurity in our state.

Looking ahead, 2025 will be a transformative year as we expand our gleaning program into new regions and launch a strategic planning initiative to build a sustainable, long-term model for community farming, regional food access, and farm system support.
